Welcome! I am a classically trained pianist with a Master’s degree from The Juilliard School and over 9 years of experience teaching who offers highly customizable lessons to students of all ages and skill levels, from complete beginner to advanced. I am very passionate about making piano lessons an approachable and enjoyable experience through clear communication, respect for my students’ goals, and a deep understanding of the craft. Together, we will cover topics such as piano technique, musical literacy, music theory, style and interpretation, and more. I look forward to working with you.

Teaching Philosophy

Why customized learning? Piano is a unique art that bridges mental effort with physical execution. Every person thinks and moves their body in individual ways. As your teacher I will be responding in real time to the special challenges you face and strengths that you bring rather than utilizing standardized methods which may not necessarily work with your physicality or way of learning. I bring enthusiasm to meeting each student wherever they are at, as adults or young children, serious music students or enthusiastic hobbyists. I promise a more efficient and enjoyable process, which will have us both thinking critically, being present, and actively listening together.

We hired Nicole to teach piano to our shy 6 year old daughter Juliette who had no previous piano experience. From the very first lesson Nicole
